SAMANTHA, SPOILED AS ANY LAST CHILD CAN BE!

Samantha, our last kitten, loves helping. And the curling ribbon is irresistible!

She also loves Jesus, and payed several visits to the manger!

She never played around, just sat very respectfully along with the sheep, cow and donkey!

I know! She shouldn't be in the bread basket on the kitchen counter! She had been helping Uncle Bernard try to get the birds eating sunflower seeds in the window box, when she got tired evidently. You'll probably never want rolls at my house again!

It's going to be very hard to part with little "Sammy". Knowing that she is the last kitten we will be having due to the untimely passing of her father, Samson, makes it doubly hard. She grows sweeter and more lovable each day, following me everywhere, and immediately purring if she thinks you're going to pick her up. Someone needs to buy her soon, and rescue me from falling hopelessly in love with her.

OUR LAST LITTER!

July 19, our beloved pet Samson died suddenly, but not before fathering his last kittens. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss him and mourn not just the loss of a pet, but of a way of life. For the last 13 years we have enjoyed raising many, many kittens, each with their own unique personality. There are many homes that are richer because of them. I've enjoyed so much meeting many wonderful people over the years, all who have one thing in common: they all love cats!

Hannah and Samantha, or Sammy after her dad (our nick names) are 6 weeks old and very hard to get to hold still for the camera, so for now these will have to do. They are both Seal Point Snow Shoes like their mother, Sheba.

As we only had 2 kittens, I'm afraid some of you on our waiting list will be disappointed. I will be contacting all of you this next week about availability. As for the future as to whether we look for another male to breed will be up to the Lord. Right now we're just really enjoying these last 2 very precious kittens.

7 WEEKS OLD

"What greater gift than the love of a cat?"--Charles Dickens This is the male Seal Pointe Snow Shoe with a green collar. We were having trouble telling the two apart so one has a red collar and the other a green one. So now you can compare with the previous post of the little guy with the red collar on his back. The difference other than the markings on the rear feet, is personality. The little guy with the red collar is very out going. In fact we nicknamed him "Indy" for Indiana Jones because he was so adventurous from the very beginning. He is very much a people cat and is independent from the other two. The kitten with the green collar is a bit more shy, but we nicknamed him "Junior" so he wouldn't feel left out in the Indiana Jones theme! He has bonded with the little Seal Pointe female. The two are practically inseparable.

Leonardo da Vinci 3 weeks old tomorrow, the 2 male Seal Pointe Snow Shoes are looking at you from the picture above and and the little female Seal Pointe from the picture below.
Only 3 weeks old and already the little one on the right is compulsively washing himself! They will be 8 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes by the 27th of December, or possibly the 25th if someone wants a sweet and cuddly Christmas gift!

Why is it that the favorite place to be for our indoor cats, and obviously our outdoor cats as well, is the table?!! Well Moses and Suki sure prefer the spot of sun on the table to that of the deck floor! I was archiving my summer's pictures and came across these of Suki and Moses when I got a phone call from a lady who had looked me up to ask about our kittens. She said she checks the blog regularly. Oops! So I got to thinking maybe I should be posting pictures of our Siamese family a little more often.

Suki, by the way, chose to ignore me and the camera the whole time. Now she'd respond very differently if it was a piece of cheese in my hand instead of a camera! But obviously there was nothing in this for her and so she continued on with more important issues, mainly her nap.

Now Moses on the other hand is a "big" ham and a great outdoor companion. He loves to help with gardening, chasing the weeder and sometimes almost getting his paws nipped with clippers in his over zealousness to help. But as you can see he has no problem relaxing after a hard days work! He's also a great lover. I'll go down to sit on my swing for a break and here comes Moses to jump up in my lap and give me a kitty massage, purring the whole time! Such devotion just doesn't exist among humankind! Thank you Lord for creating the cat!

These kittens sure bring us joy in the middle of the "misery of life"! Sheba had 4 this time! 2 males and 2 females. They were 7 weeks old yesterday. They've been awfully hard to catch and photograph as they are continually on the move.
Sometimes though you actually have the camera at hand when they stop to rest. This is one of the females and our only Blue Point this time. She is just a doll and a real sweetheart.
This little male Seal Point is also a little lover.
Both he and his sister actually sat around for quite a lengthy photo op (lengthy in kitten time)!
Then others must be caught in a towel and forced to have their picture taken! This little guy has loved people from the time he was 3 weeks old. He'd hear our voices and come wobbling out of the box. (They normally don't come out of their box till they're 4 weeks old, and his brother and sisters didn't.) Then he'd cry till you picked him up! What's not to fall in love with? We nick-named him "Harvey Two Face"!

Our precioius little Blue Point male has indeed become very doted upon, being an only child! He loves all the attention of course. Having no siblings to fight with he focuses his attention on his mother, Sheba, and Uncle Bernard, paying special attention to their ears and tails! He was born Monday, November 26, so he is 7 weeks old today!

Since the ad is coming out in the paper tomorrow, I thought I should update the blog. Below we have our female Blue Point, "Miss Blue", who just turned 9 weeks old. And here we have Mr. Blue, who gives a whole new meaning to the term lap cat! He's left from our last litter, as we thought we were saving him for a friend and then that didn't work out. So, incidently, he has all his shots. As you can tell Mr. Blue has fallen for Miss Blue big time!
They are always together, whether sleeping or playing. Oh, and did I mention...they both love to purr...and loudly too!

Little Abbi is one of our female Blue Points. She looks just like her mother except she is a Blue Point instead of a Seal Point. She even purrs as soon as you touch her just like her mother.

As you can see Snow Shoes are very playful and mischieveous! But the Blue Pointes are also very sweet and loving.
This is a picture of our latest litter of kittens. There are 6 there actually. One is buried. We had only one Seal Point this time and she is already sold. So there are 1 female and 2 male Blue Points, and one Blue Point Snow Shoe female left. The perky little kitten in the red collar is one of our female Blue Pointes.

Moses loves snow more than anything else, except maybe birds!He loves to dig in it and toss it around. With a little more practice, he might be making snowballs! Still looking for a drink! He had great fun going around and around the top of the birdbath knocking all the snow into it.

BERNARD'S TURN FOR A PHOTO OP

This is Bernard, one of our two inside cats. He's a Seal Point Snow Shoe. As a kitten, the family we sold him to discovered after taking him to the vet that he had a heart murmer, and didn't want to risk taking him, so we let them pick another from the same litter and we kept him. We named him Christian Bernard after the famous heart surgeon, hoping that would be a positive step towards his healing and future good health. Well a year later, there was no sign of his heart murmer! Bernard is loved and cherished by us all...not to mention spoiled rotten! Bernard's very good at mental telepathy! He'll just stare at you until he gets what he wants without uttering a sound!
Sometimes I think he thinks he's human!
Then there's other times he slips and lets you know he really is a cat! See the fly he's going after in my kitchen window? He's very curious.
If there's a ladder in the house, he will climb it just because it's there. This particular climb is on a 17' ladder, helping to decorate our Christmas tree. Coming down is quite another story!
He also likes to help cook!
He'll even pose nicely when he feels like it.

Sheba is our "little" Seal Point Snow Shoe Queen. If there is an open container, from bags to boxes, and even bowls, she'll get into them. It doesn't matter how small it may be, she'll give it her all trying to squeeze into it! She gives us no end of laughs! Honest, Sheba gets her ownself into these places!
Yeah! She's even a "Copy Cat"!
Yes, we washed it before putting the chips in!
I think she was trying out for Toy Story II! But Stinky Pete got the part!
Oh, yeah, I forgot about the sink! She loves it. It's shaped just right!
And, I saved the best for last. Yes, that's Sheba with her head in yet another bowl! We didn't give her a chance to get all the way in. You'd better always close the toilet lid at our house!

The kittens turned 4 weeks old on Thursday the 20th. They are now out of their box and happily exploring their new environment. They are also well on their way to being litter trained.

Aren't they sweet? They were born Thursday afternoon, March 23rd, a day earlier than expected. At this point they look like little white rats! You can't tell yet which ones will be Snow Shoes and which ones Seal Pointes for at least a week or two. Will keep you posted.
